The blood letting reflects increasing conflict between Iraq’s majority Shiite leadership and Sunni minority. A car bomb exploded in the mainly Sunni district of Binoog in north Baghdad, killing at least 4 people. Six other bombs killed people in mainly Shiites and Sunni districts of the capital. No group responsibility for this attack. Seven people including 3 policemen were killed in clashes between gunmen and security forces in the northern city of Mosul. Security officials blame Sunni Islamists and A-Qaeda’s local wing for most of the violence.
