A group of Palestinians has created a comical version of the South Korean’s song “Gangnum style” and which has been named as “Gangnum Gaza Style”. In this video there was a dance performed by five adults along with a child who are wearing same type of costumes by which they are trying to highlight the problems in the region.
Further one of the singers who backed there was a word “unemployment” has been written in English as well as Arabian language. On their way, the vehicle of this group has stopped without fuel and they have to be pushed the vehicle. They have performed a ‘Gangnum’ style dance whilst during time.
When they arrived to the fuel station, there was a board written as “fuel not available” and on that reason they used donkeys as a way of their transport. The message they wish to convey on that was to highlight their problems such as sufferings, congestions, unemployment and non availability of the electricity etc. said a group member Volid Anthony to the Reuters.
Further, the United Nations has said that the present unemployment rate of the Gaza region is 40% but their local economist states that is was about 60% at present. The group leader Muhamnad Barakath has stated that using simple instruments to convey a message to all over the world, he should pay his gratitude to the God.
However the reason for this sad situation in the Gaza region was the barriers imposed by the Israel government in the years 2001 & 2007. Palestine (especially the Gaza region) survives on foreign aid and they have lots of liabilities to state and private banks.
Further they try to tease for the wealthy people living in Seoul by this song.
