A group of British scientists, are trying to preserve the Aramaic Language, spoken by Jesus Christ, which is tied to Hebrew and Arabic Languages.
Mr Geoffrey Khan, Professor of linguistics at Cambridge University, has started a research to tape this language which was used about 3000 years ago.
The Professor has said that, he was stunned, after listening to this language, from a Jew, who is living in Northern Iraq.He is intending to record this 3000 year old language which is on the verge of extinction, from some of the living native Aramaic speakers.
There may be certain persons who are speaking this language in many parts of the word, between U.S.A. and Iraq. During 20 years Professor Khan has written many important books, on the previously undocumented sub languages used in Iraq, such as , Barwar, Qaraqosh,Erbil,Sulemaniyya, and Halabja, as well as Urmi, and Sanandaj, used in Iran.
It is also mentioned that he is further working on a web based database of text and audio recordings, that allows word by word comparisons across dozens of Aramaic sub languages, reports say.
The Aramaic Language, which belongs to the Semitic family of languages, has been used in the books connected to the Biblical books, such as Daniel and Ezra.
The linguists say that, this language which was used between 539BC to 70AD, was most likely spoken by Jesus.
